Welcome on the site of our “Haute Ecole”. In our institute of higher education, students attend classes during three years to become bachelors in process control, computer technology, law, marketing, accounting and computer sciences with management option. These studies were called “graduat” not so long ago.
We also have a department for bachelors who will teach family and social economics in the secondary schools, who are better known as “régents”.
Our aim, as an institute of higher education, is to provide vocationally oriented education courses, that is to say closely tuned to the needs and developments in the workplace, so that the holders of a degree can rapidly become operational in professional sectors that are often very specialized and demanding. Our motto: Ready for take-off !
At the IESN, we claim that we perform this task in a particularly successful way: our students, once qualified, quickly find a job. Even better: professionals call us to say: “We are looking for someone …” In this case, we send them the lists with our last qualified students.
The bachelors from the IESN and the institute itself remain in line with the labour market and are well integrated into the professional, socio-economic and educational structures of Wallonia, including the German-speaking community, the Brussels Region, the Flemish Brabant, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, not to forget the international careers. The diploma is renowned, while the skills behind the paper are frequently recognized by employers.
But this recognition is not something obvious. It requires that we keep up the level of the curricula, that we constantly improve it, because the technical and human requirements of the jobs become more and more precise with the surprising transformations of these last decades. We have to confess that this renewal is a real pleasure for us: it often gives rise to impassioned debates between teachers and various originalities in teaching activities. We are certainly not here to get bored.
Welcome to the Haute Ecole IESN, therefore, but do not forget to be curious and roll up your sleeves!
The educational goals are serious. We want that a maximum of students reach them. We spare no effort to this end. Beside new infrastructures and modern equipments, related services are at the disposal of students: library, international relations, students’ association, …
Even more important: the emphasis at the IESN is placed on proximity: you can talk to the teachers! The coordinators of the various departments are also ready to listen to the students. A team of educational supervisors and a specialized educational adviser can support students with difficulties, organize remedial teaching if the student wishes it, or even consider a reorientation. Nobody is left behind.
